4. AI & Third-Party Services

Sous Pantry uses third-party AI services (such as Anthropic's API) to generate recipe suggestions and analyse pantry photos. When you request a recipe or upload a photo:

• Your ingredient list or image is sent to the AI service to generate personalised results
• Your personal identity (name, email, account details) is not shared with these services
• Data is not used to train or improve AI models
• Results are returned to your device and processed within Sous Pantry

We also use third parties for analytics, crash reporting, and payment processing. These partners are bound by confidentiality agreements.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We retain your information only for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your data from our systems within 30 days.

12. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We retain your information only as long as needed to provide Sous Pantry and fulfil the purposes described in this policy. When we no longer need your data and you have no active account, we either remove it from our systems or anonymise it so you cannot be identified.

Backup retention: For disaster recovery and data protection, we maintain backups of our systems. This means a copy of your information may exist in non-erasable backup form for a period of time. We will promptly remove or anonymise your data from active databases when you request deletion, but backups may take longer to fully purge.

13. Can I Update or Correct My Information?

All payment processing is handled securely by RevenueCat in accordance with their Privacy Policy and PCI DSS compliance standards. Your payment details are encrypted and never accessible to Sous Pantry directly.

17. Kids' Privacy

Sous Pantry is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately at hello@souspantry.com. If we become aware that we have collected data from someone under 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

18. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email to your registered email address. We will give you at least 30 days to review the changes before they take effect.

Your continued use of Sous Pantry after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to the changes, you may delete your account before the changes take effect.

Sous Pantry integrates with third-party services including Anthropic (for AI), RevenueCat (for payments), and analytics providers. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, security, or practices of these third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their own privacy policies and terms of service.

We do not assume any liability for any issues arising from third-party services, including data breaches, service interruptions, or policy changes by these providers. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies independently.

20. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Australia, without regard to conflicts of law. You consent to the jurisdiction of Australian courts for any disputes arising from this policy. If you are located outside Australia, your use of Sous Pantry may also be subject to other local, state, national, or international laws.
